In a post on his X account on Saturday, the spokesman of the Iranian foreign ministry Nasser Kan'ani wrote, "Despite ongoing public protests across the world and a resolution by the United Nations General Assembly against the war crimes of the Zionist regime in the #Gaza Strip, the Zionist regime has stepped up its air, sea and ground strikes on different parts of the coastal sliver (enclave) and the brutal killing of Palestinian civilians."
"These attacks are not merely limited to relentless bombardments and the firing of missiles by the Zionist regime aimed at the genocide of Palestinians and killing innocent Palestinian children; rather, the strikes amount to non-stop attacks on the conscience of the human community, moral and human principles, global peace and security, human rights and binding international laws and regulations," he added.
"If it weren’t for the support offered by the US and some Western governments, would the Zionists dare commit so many crimes and genocide against Palestinians?" Kan'ni concluded.
At least 7,326 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, when Hamas carried out a surprise operation outside the Gaza Strip.
